HONEY CLAY AND LAVENDER FACIAL MAINTENANCE KIT

We are really hoping that this kit will be a hit. Lavender and honey are both known for their healing and cleansing qualities, and lavender hydrosol is something unique and special. Here is what you get and how it's used: CLAY MASK - Rhassoul Clay is a special smectic (or swelling) three layer clay from Morocco. The clay also has ground up lavender and oatmeal. Once and not more than twice a week, mix it half and half with the hydrosol and apply to face. It absorbs oils and toxins. HONEY WASH - honey moisturizes and is bactericidal and nourishes the skin. Our honey wash also has essential oils of lavender, orange and gardenia! Use this every day if you like. HYDROSOL - this is the water component from our distillation. Its a great skin toner and is also mildly antibacterial. And it has a unique, wonderful refreshing, smell. Use as mix for the clay and use daily on face as toning splash. SCRUB This is our body and face scrub - use gently on the face for deep exfoliation. MIXING BOWL and SPOON Just a little convenience. "LT" HAS A CLOSE CALL
You know this guy - "Little Tweety". He started wheezing badly late on a Saturday. He seemed like an asthma case, but he followed his girls and behaved normally except for no crowing. But the wheezing was bad. Saturday night late - its hard to find avian vets during the week! Glenn had to take him to Ventura - getting there at 11PM. The Pet Emergency Clinic on Victoria took him in and he was cooperative - sitting on Glenn's arm just like at the store the whole time. Dr. Mary McLoughlin had a look, but we had to lightly anesthetize him to see far enough. After he was asleep, she looked wayyyyyy down and pulled out a big piece of corn he had aspirated all the way to the bottom of his trachea. So we really lucked out getting him in fast. The doc said that he could not either eat and breathe and that if it had gone into the lung it would have made it a very hard case. He woke up right after wards and acted like nothing had ever happened. And the next morning he got up and was 100%.

The difference between the body butter and the hand and body lotion is primarily that the body butter has over 7% butters - shea butter and cocoa butter to be specific.

We have had a lot of success with the gift packs. One of the things that we have found is that "beefing up" the introductory package has made it a LOT more attractive. HENRIETTA GETS A NEW HOMEThis wonderful bird was in need of a home, and we got a call asking if we could take another hen. We did! She walks around talking all day and is shy, but is spending all day outside now with Smokey and another young one.
We named her Henrietta.
When she sees Glenn, she comes running. She is a silver laced Wyandotte - probably the friendliest chicken here!!! Its very interesting how the different breeds have such distinct personalities - but they do!

Smokey - the ROOSTER!!  | ITS A BOY!
Well it looks like the name that was suggested for this one fits. A few weeks ago, he crowed for the first time. We hope that he doesn't become too aggressive a rooster, because (today) he is a very nice little guy and has quite a repertoire of sounds he makes and things to say. He likes being held and riding around on an arm sometimes. If he becomes unmanageable, we will have to find him a home - AND we will ask here first. Hand raised roosters are very prized. They are high fashion in Europe, in fact!

LET US HELP WITH THE HOLIDAYS
It's really hard to believe that Summer is already over except for a day on the Calender. We still have a week and a half or so of harvesting to complete to get the rest of the buds in for distillation. But what that means is that holiday time is approaching.
We have done a LOT of work in the last few weeks trying to improve the look and feel of our products - maybe you noticed some of the label changes in the products above. And we have made a big effort to offer NEW products that are not just unique, but also of the highest quality. While we don't want to be pushing the Holidays even before we eat the kids' Halloween Candy, we do know that a lot of people start looking for gifts as labor day fades.
We have put the gift assortments together to make them a solution and an easy great gift to pick up. So we will put out a gift newsletter in a week or two so people can start thinking about the holidays.

We get asked this sometimes, and up until now its been mostly "no, but we have the website". But we are also working hard to build a business selling to stores and retailers. And we have been having some success locally. And we want to expand this business - it helps get us through the Winter months. And we find that people in stores seem to like the products as much as people at the farm So if you know of any stores in your area that you think would do well carrying our products, we would really like to hear about them.
