SUMMER IS HERE AT CLAIRMONT FARMS
June 18 Clairmont Farms
ITS GOING TO BE A GREAT YEAR FOR THE LAVENDER
Both the Lavender and the Olives aregoing to have bumper crops this year. Lastyear was a bit of an off year in terms of production.  Like many cropsit seemsthat both will have an off year and then a big year the next year. Interestingly the olives and the lavender here seem to be "on" and "off" in synceach year.  We have spent a lot of time thinking about these things asour plantsare now 11 years old.  It would be interesting to compare these cyclesto local grapes (another Mediterranean originating plant).

Andindeed this year is the best year that thelavender has seen in the last 5 years. The plants are plump, the stalksarelonger and the tips of the fronds are still just a little green.

They are getting more blue each day.AND we want you to be able to see this, so we will post a picture a day on our Clairmont Farms Blog just click the link to look everyday.  We will also have more about the chickens and horses there too.

Glenn and LT
LT ("Little Tweety" in honor of his mother) is a mellow guy, having been handled since he was hatched.  He lets little kids pet him and rides around town in the truck sometimes.  Its  fun to see the expressions on peoples faces when they see him in the vehicle.  He also entertains small children that want to see him - in fact the other day one of them asked "Does he Crow?" and LT stood up and obliged.

NEW PRODUCT SUGGESTIONS WANTED
We are looking for new ideas for products.   One idea that we are thinking about is
a honey and shea base with jojoba as a face cream.  We've tried a clay masque also that deep cleans and moisturizes - what we are trying to do is keep it from settling.  Other possibilities are a cologne-like body splash which might contain some denatured alcohol and yes - a perfume as well. Lavender is very hard to work with as a perfume because it evaporates so quickly.

So please - if there is something you have been wanting - send us an email at info@clairmontfarms.com    - we'd really appreciate hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Meryl, Glenn and Sean
